Final DVD Project

I want to focus on rush hour traffic in all forms of transportation. The traffic pattern in D.C. is very different than that in New York. With the video footage, I'd like to explore the major differences.

Political Ad

For Project 3, I've decided to choose Hillary Clinton. Hillary Clinton rests on the fact that she has more experience in office. While she does have experience because her husband was in the White House already and she has been in the Senate longer than Obama, I think that one can take a comedic approach to this slogan. I'm not going to bash Hillary but I think she needs to find another slogan to lean back on if she wins the Democratic Primary.

Hirshborn Museum and YouTube

YouTube differs from broadcast television because it is accessible all the time. Also, it doesn’t take much to create and upload a video on YouTube, where in broadcast television teams work hard on editing videos to get them just right. YouTube videos can range from music videos to political parodies. The YouTube world is a vast variety of different genres of videos that are not usually seen on regular TV.

Since it is so easy to post a video on YouTube, almost everyone is doing it. Even I have a video on YouTube. Just like the slogan says, Broadcast Yourself. You never know who will come across your video, but once it gets leaked out, you can achieve instant fame. For instance, there are multiple videos that are very popular among college kids. It is as though a YouTube frenzy has broken out. Not a day goes by without someone asking me if I had checked out this new video. The most recent YouTube video crazes are:

Jackie and Debra

Old Greg

My New Haircut

While hanging out in a dorm room or at a party, these videos are quoted and referenced all the time.

The piece of work that really made an impression on me at the Hirshhorn Museum was Gary Hill's Suspension of Disbelief. This was a form of innovative art because he used multiple TV monitors to create one work of art. He used the TV screen to display images of his girlfriend and himself. The story behind the work is very interesting, because even though they were far from each other, they were in a way still together with the help of his piece.

Innocent Life..

"You must not put the innocent and the just to death"
Daniel: 13:54

thousands of people come together
unite to fight for innocent life

their pilgrimage has just begun
every individual has a reason
this is because life is sacred

each sign reveals a message

the message stronger then the next

it's not so easy to look
but you can't help yourself

half way there

they've almost finished
have they made their point?

“I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End. Happy are those who will have washed their robes clean, so that they will have the right to feed on the tree of life and can come through the gates into the city. These others must stay outside: dogs, fortunetellers, and fornicators, and murderers, and idolaters, and everyone of false speech and false life."
Revelation: 22:13-15

Human life must be respected and protected absolutely from the moment of conception. From the first moment of his or her existence, a human being must be recognized as having the rights of a person - among which is the inviolable right of every innocent human being to life.
Catechism 2270 of the Catholic Church

Since the first century the church has affirmed the moral evil of every procured abortion. This teaching has not changed and remains unchangeable. Direct abortion, that is to say, abortion willed either as an end or a means, is gravely contrary to moral law.

You shall not kill the embryo by abortion and shall not cause the newborn to perish.

God, the Lord of life , has entrusted to men the noble mission of safeguarding life, and men must carry it out in a manner worthy of themselves. Life must be protected with the utmost care from the moment of conception: abortion and infanticide are abominable crimes.
Catechism 2271 of the Catholic Church

Do not slay the innocent and the righteous. The deliberate murder of an innocent person is gravely contrary to the dignity of the human being, to the golden rule, and to the holiness of the Creator. The law forbidding it is universally valid: it obliges each and everyone, always and everywhere.
Catechism 2261 of the Catholic Church

You shall not kill the embryo by abortion and shall not cause the newborn to perish.
Catechism 2271 of the Catholic Church

Human life is sacred because from its beginning it involves the creative action of God and it remains for ever in a special relationship with the Creator, who is its sole end. God alone is the Lord of life from its beginning until its end: no one can under any circumstance claim for himself the right directly to destroy an innocent human being.
Catechism 2258 of the Catholic Church

Are "old-fashioned" forms of art really inadequate for capturing the elements of contemporary life?

Before the boom of technology in the 20th century, this "old-fashioned" art was all that people had. In the 20th century, technology gave a new light to art allowing people to interact with this new-age art. Since "old-fashioned" art was the only form of art around, it was adequate enough to capture the speed, energy and contradictions of contemporary life. However, advances in technology allowed art to move from music from an instrument or a picture on a canvas to a interactive piece on a computer. "Old-fashioned" art can be executed in a way to look like speed and energy. However, because the advance of technology in art this art will not look or feel as sufficient in portraying energy and speed.
